Passive Acoustic Cetacean Monitoring System

Real-time Monitoring

Passive Acoustic Monitoring real-time acoustic monitoring

System monitoring the full range of cetacean vocalisation frequencies to comply with seismic survey regulatory requirements set out by the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC)

Safety Boat Services are equipped with the ACOUSTIC MARINE SYSTEMS Passive Acoustic Cetacean Monitoring System (PAMS) . PAMS  is able to detect a wide range of frequencies emitted from Cetacean vocalistion, from low frequncy moans to the high frequency echolocation clicks. Towed behind a survey vessels, this systems enable us to comply with the regulatory requirements set out by the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) seismic guidelines for minimising the risk of injury to marine mammals during a wide range of geophysical surveys, from large scale seismic surveys to monitoring Cetaceans activity during windfarm piling operations.
